how the switchboard service works
The switchboard service works in the following manner:
- caller dials the number.
- switchboard service answers the call, optionally plays the caller
a customisable prompt, such as 'Thank you for callling XYZ Ltd'.
- your menu announcement is then played to the caller
- the caller may at any time select an option ny pressing a key on
their phone.
- the service you related to the option selected by the caller is then
acted upon. (be it: call divert, answerphone, fax, play announcement,
another menu, voicemail, etc..)
- the menu options are repeated until the caller selects an option
or hangs up.
The key elements are that:
- all the prompts can be turned off or tailored to your requirements
by you directly
- the menu options can be changed by yourself
- new menus can be added at any time
- changes can be made at any time of the day or year
- the voice mail and unified messaging is fully integrated
- and did we mention that it's completely free to try out!
